This design was made for the bodice and skirt to be separate, however upon completion I realized the pattern had not allowed enough length on the bodice to meet the skirt, and if the skirt were attached to the bodice it would no longer be floor-length and would look wrong. So, as I've said, there is always a solution! I made a corset-style extension on the waist and used it in such a way as to add to the 'flounce' look. (You can see a short layer over the hip region of the skirt with some pleats in it.)

Not visible is the petticoat with a hand-made ruffle around the edge that is under the skirt.
